Growing you the most SEASONAL, LOCAL & NUTRIENT-DENSE produce, in balance with nature

Produce

We are stewarding the land to restore and regenerate soils, culture, biodiversity and health to the best of our ability. Some of the practices that lend to this goal include:

  • maximising photosynthesis and biodiversity - through cover crops and the integration of other companion plants and perennials
  • no tillage - improving soil structure, preventing CO2 emissions and preserving soil life
  • keeping soil covered - with living plants or dead organic matter
  • zero chemicals or artificial fertilisers - sourcing & creating on-farm fertility
  • minimal machinery - reducing fossil fuel inputs and providing meaningful work for humans

As a result of these efforts, our mission is to produce the most nutrient-dense, healthful food possible whilst sequestering carbon and enhancing the local ecosystem.

Philosophy

An Ensō is a circle hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes. To me it represents moments in time in which positive intentions effortlessly manifest, in alignment with skill, experience and knowledge.

It is an ideal to strive for; a harmony between being and doing.

These intentions must be aligned with Nature, and benefit the Whole.

Our core intention is to co-create a tranquil, beautiful environment alongside Nature that can functionally inspire regenerative culture, by proliferating and enhancing Life.

The Farmer

After three years working as a software engineer in London, feeling disconnected from nature and the systemic crises we are facing, I decided to further educate myself with a masters in environmental sustainability.

Deep study of the historical momentum that has bought us to this point then inspired a broad exploration of the solutions; I narrowed in on our relationship with land (and its inhabitants) as what has done the most cumulative harm, yet what can still be our greatest salvation through Regenerative Agriculture and other land use practices such as Rewilding and Forest Protection.

After further training at Ridgedale Farm in Sweden and Rancho Mastatal in Costa Rica, I returned to the UK and the Ensō Farm journey began.
